Mind's Eye Dub is Malta's top reggae musician. He
plays all the instruments on his releases and takes care of production and mixing. His tunes
have a heavy Mediterranean flavour: tough, but very melodic. His melodica tracks are very
powerful: catchy, but enduring.
Born David Magro in 1969, he formed Malta's first reggae band, Mind's Eye, in 1988. The band
played successful concerts all over the island for about ten years supporting reggae legends
like Aswad, The Wailers, and Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers in the process.
When the band split up, David built his own studio and his first solo project was a Bob Marley
tribute album. In 2001, he did three CDs for mp3.com. He was now recording under the name of
Mind's Eye Dub. Many of his next tunes were made available as free downloads at his mindseyedub.com site, as was the 2008 set
with twenty of these tracks: 'I Wanna Love You'. 'Manwel T Meets
Mind's Eye Dub At The Temple Of Dub' appeared on Dubkey in April 2009. The same label
released the 'A Different World' compilation in early
2010 and 'Uhuru' three years later.
